Brent Nicklas is the Founder and non-executive Chairman of Lexington, which he founded in 1994. Prior to becoming Chairman in 2018, Mr. Nicklas, as Founder and Managing Partner of Lexington, primarily managed the Firm’s investment operations and oversaw Lexington’s secondary and co-investment funds. Mr. Nicklas is widely credited with helping to develop the secondary market for private equity and alternative investment interests, and creating CIP, one of the first independent co-investment programs. From 1988 to 1994, Mr. Nicklas was a founding partner of Landmark Partners where he was instrumental in pioneering the secondary market for private equity interests. From 1976 to 1988, Mr. Nicklas was a member of the Capital Markets division at Merrill Lynch where he specialized in private and public equity investments. Mr. Nicklas graduated from Amherst College with a BA (Honors) in economics and from the Stanford Graduate School of Business with an MBA.
