Jeff is a co-founder and special advisor of KLH Capital, where he shares responsibility for guiding the firm’s investment decisions. During his career, he has successfully identified, facilitated, and invested in more than 130 lower-middle market businesses. Jeff co-founded Florida Capital Partners (FCP) with John Kirtley in 1988 in Tampa, Florida. At this institutionally backed investment firm, one of the earliest to focus on lower-middle market companies, he was directly responsible for successfully investing in more than 100 small businesses through recapitalizations, management buy-outs and buy-ins, family successions, and other ownership transactions. Prior to his roles at FCP and KLH, Jeff was a general partner at Chemical Venture Partners in New York after launching his career at Drexel Burnham Lambert. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia, where he has been a member of the board of trustees for the McIntire School of Commerce Foundation since 2009. Jeff serves on the board of Mercy & Sharing: Haiti Children, a nonprofit organization that provides care and education to abandoned, orphaned, and disabled Haitian children, and coached youth sports for a number of years. Jeff is an avid international traveler, having been to the North and South poles, and 100 countries in-between. He is also a duck whisperer who calls ducks to his dock on Lake Norman, NC.
