Matt Watkins (New York) joined KKR in 2017 as Deputy Chief Compliance Officer of KKR Private Markets and Counsel. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Watkins was an executive director and AML counsel with Morgan Stanley. From 2008 to 2015, Mr. Watkins served as a senior counsel in the SEC’s New York regional office, where he was a member of the market abuse unit and helped to bring several high profile insider trading enforcement actions involving registered investment advisers. Mr. Watkins began his career as a litigation attorney at Covington & Burling. He is a graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School.
