Jigar Shah (Mumbai) joined KKR in 2018 and heads the Legal and Compliance function for KKR India, working across all the KKR activities in India including its corporate and real estate lending arms, private equity, special situation and infrastructure platforms. Prior to joining KKR, he was the head of legal at JP Morgan India from 2013 to 2018, responsible for all transactional and non-transactional legal support, and a member of JP Morgan’s India country location management committee, India management committee and APAC legal management committee as well as its APAC inclusive leadership council which set JP Morgan’s diversity and inclusion agenda in the region. Mr. Shah previously worked at Deutsche Bank from 2002 to 2013 in their London, Hong Kong and Mumbai offices as head of corporate and investment bank legal. Prior to Deutsche Bank, he was in private practice at various international law firms in London including Linklaters. Mr. Shah graduated with an LLB in 1992 from the University of Leicester, and completed his Law Society Finals from the College of Law in Guilford in 1993, before qualifying as a solicitor in England & Wales in 1996. In 2019, he was listed by Chambers and Partners as one of the most influential General Counsels in India.
