Daniel (Daan) Knottenbelt (London) joined KKR in 2018 as a Partner to head up the European Financial Services team and to lead Benelux coverage. Mr. Knottenbelt led KKR’s investments in Soderberg&Partners, Unzer (formerly Heidelpay), Avida, and Roompot and played a significant role in KKR’s investment in Exact Software. He currently serves on the board of directors of Soderberg, Unzer, Avida, Exact, and Roompot. He is a member of KKR’s European Private Equity Investment Committee, European Portfolio Management Committee, and Private Credit Opportunities Partners Investment Committee. He also serves on KKR’s Global Inclusion and Diversity Council. Mr. Knottenbelt joined KKR from Palamon Capital Partners in London, where he was a partner and member of the firm’s operating committee. Mr. Knottenbelt joined Palamon in 2000 from McKinsey, where he worked in the U.K., U.S., the Netherlands, and Belgium. He has more than 18 years of investment experience focusing on financial services, including in payments, wealth management, consumer credit, and insurance. At Palamon he was involved in several high-profile and successful investments in European businesses with significant global scale, including Towry, Currencies Direct, Loyalty Partner, and SAV Credit (now "Newday"). Mr. Knottenbelt has a MSc in Electrical Engineering from Delft University of Technology (in the Netherlands) and an M.B.A. from INSEAD (in France).
