Bio

Michael Petit joined JMH Capital in 2017. He serves as the firm’s Director of Business Development and is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and executing new investment opportunities, and managing and nurturing its relationships with the M&A community. Mr. Petit also works with management in JMH’s investment portfolio on various strategic initiatives. Prior to joining JMH Capital, Mr. Petit was an Advisor at Goldman, Sachs & Co. within the firm’s Investment Management Division where he provided wealth management advice to ultra high net worth clients throughout North America. Mr. Petit was responsible for structuring investment portfolios, managing assets, providing comprehensive analysis across all asset classes, and advising on various tax and estate planning considerations to a broad set of clients. Before joining Goldman, Mr. Petit was a consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton in the firm’s Strategic Technology and Innovation Division, where he consulted with various organizations within the U.S. Department of Defense on IT systems and services, and established strategic plans to meet ongoing portfolio management requirements. Previously, Mr. Petit was an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served with distinction and led Marines in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. Among other responsibilities, he trained foreign security forces, operated as an advisor to partnered nation government officials and tribal leaders, and served as a liaison officer to the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Agency for International Development. Mr. Petit graduated Cum Laude from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts, and he received his MBA from the Stern School of Business at NYU.
