Bio

Mr. Kalman is a General Partner in Eos Venture Partners, an InsurTech venture fund, and founder, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner of Jaguar Capital Partners, a private equity firm. Earlier, Jonathan founded one of the first global Internet Accelerators, Katalyst, and was co-investor behind one of the first “unicorns”, Breakaway Solutions, Inc., where together with Internet Capital Group he backed CEO Gordon Brooks in the creation of an eBusiness systems integration firm that went public for over $1.2B in market cap and reached a peak valuation of $4.2B. For the last decade Mr. Kalman has focused on the insurance industry. A thought-leader in insurance technology, he is a frequent speaker on such topics as Customer Journey Analytics, Digital Customer Engagement and Core Systems transformation. Mr. Kalman works with InsurTech startups and senior executives of Insurance companies on Competitive Strategy, Digital Strategy, Customer-centric engagement and Core Systems transformation initiatives, and draws on his expertise as a technologist and investor to develop pragmatic solutions that provide competitive advantage and differentiation to insurance company offerings. An investor in INVeSHARE, a FinTech blockchain pioneer, Mr. Kalman worked with CEO Davidi Gilo on the company’s sale to Broadridge Financial Group (NYSE: BR) for $135M in 2016. Mr. Kalman is an advisor to ConVista Consulting A.G. and serves as Chief Digital Transformation Officer. ConVista is a global IT Services firm specializing in insurance headquartered in Cologne, Germany with offices in fourteen countries with 700 employees. Mr. Kalman is co-founder of Return on Intelligence, Inc., a global systems integration firm with a specialty in insurance that grew organically and through acquisitions to over 1500 employees with operations throughout Eastern Europe and China, and sales offices in UK, Germany and the US. Earlier, Mr. Kalman served as Executive Chairman of UNIRISX LLC, a global insurance software provider specializing in SaaS-based policy administration. A spinout from Marsh, Mr. Kalman acquired UNIRISX LLC in a syndicated transaction, and relocated the company from London to Philadelphia. Mr. Kalman is former President and CEO of Jaguar Acquisition Corporation, a company that he took public via an initial public offering (NASDAQ: JGACU.OB) and later merged in a landmark transaction with China Cablecom, Ltd. (NASDAQ: CABL) marking the first foreign investment in the Chinese cable TV industry. At its peak, China Cablecom was the 20th largest cable system in the world. Mr. Kalman began his career at IBM. He is a member of YPO Gold, and former Chairman of YPO Philadelphia. Mr. Kalman was founder of YPO’s IT network serving over 1000 technology CEOs. Mr. Kalman holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Science, Applied Physics, from Cornell University.
