Benjamin R. Jacobson, Managing General Partner. Since 1978, Mr. Jacobson has acquired all or part of dozens of companies ranging in size from $15 million to $250 million in revenue. Mr. Jacobson started his career in investment banking, first at Paine Webber, Inc. from 1969-1971 and later at White, Weld & Co. from 1972-1976, where he became First Vice-President in the Investment Banking Department. In 1976, Mr. Jacobson left White, Weld to start his own investment banking firm, Jacobson, Gollust & Co. From 1983-1984, he was a Managing Director of Donaldson Enterprises, Inc., which managed a private equity fund. Mr. Jacobson founded Jacobson & Co. in 1984 for the purpose of acquiring companies, as well as providing investment banking services. In 1989, he formed Jacobson Partners to make direct equity investments. Mr. Jacobson served as Chairman of the Board of the YMCA of Greater New York and as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Union College as well as sitting on the board of other non-profit organizations. He has also served as a visiting professor at the University of Virginia’s Darden Business School. Mr. Jacobson graduated with a B.S. from Union College and holds an M.B.A. with Honors from New York University Graduate School of Business Administration.
