Menka Shah serves as Partner for IFHA, based out of the IFHA office in Nairobi, Kenya. Menka is an investment professional and qualified chartered accountant with experience in emerging market investing, corporate finance and international tax advisory experience in Sub-Saharan Africa and the UK. Her investing experience includes equity, quasi equity, and debt transactions across healthcare, education, renewable energy and water and sanitation sectors. Prior to joining IFHA, Menka worked for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Kenya on the Health and Education Investment Team, leading and supporting the investment process and portfolio management for IFC’s investment into several healthcare and education companies across East, West and Southern Africa. Prior to this, Menka headed up the East African Energy, Education and Water and Sanitation portfolios at the Acumen Fund, an impact investing fund, where she was responsible for business development, investing and portfolio management activities. Menka joined Acumen Fund from Ernst and Young LLP in the UK where she worked across various departments in the corporate tax team. Menka read Economics at the University of Cambridge and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Scotland (ICAS).
