Bio

Monir Barakat is the President of WCP. With other senior executives, he is responsible for WCP’s policies and strategic direction and coordinating the development of innovative investment products, including Shari’ah compliant products with clients. Prior to joining Wafra in 1999, Mr. Barakat had 20 years in senior management positions in the Arab American Bank, New York and Intercap Investments Inc., NY focusing on managing funds for Middle Eastern governmental entities and financial institutions. Mr. Barakat holds an undergraduate degree from the American University of Beirut and continued his graduate business studies at Pace University, New York.
