Morty White is a seasoned private equity executive with over 25 years of experience and a demonstrated track record for leading all aspects of complex North American middle-market investments, including evaluating investment opportunities, developing new markets, formulating investment strategies, recruiting, and supervising management teams, as well as negotiating and structuring transactions. At Instar, Morty is a Managing Partner and a member of the Executive Committee, responsible for driving and elevating the company’s origination and executive strategies and investment management activities. Morty was most recently a Managing Director at Wynnchurch Capital, a private equity firm focused on investments in the North American middle market, where he spearheaded the American company’s Toronto office for 12 years. Prior to Wynnchurch, Morty held senior positions at GE Capital, including serving as a Vice President in the company’s Telecom, Media and Technology Group. While at GE Capital, Morty was a part of the team that launched the company’s Merchant Banking Group and co-founded their private equity fund. Throughout his career, Morty has been an active board member of numerous companies, across various industries. In his governance experience, he has provided insight into corporate development, budgeting, reporting, hiring, succession issues, and strategic direction. Morty holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University, with Great Distinction and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan, with High Distinction.
