Bio

Joachim Dettmar joined IK Partners in 2019 and is a Director within the Operations Team, based in Hamburg. Joachim has extensive experience in management consultancy and private equity, with specialist expertise in the Healthcare sector. Prior to joining IK Partners, Joachim held the role of Partner with h&z Management Consulting, before which he was employed at L.E.K Consulting, working on strategy and M&A. He holds a PhD (Dr.-Ing.) in Applied Mechanics/Engineering from University of Stuttgart, where he also worked as a lecturer. Outside of work, Joachim enjoys time with his family with two daughters, and riding his mountain bike in the alps. He is a German native and fluent in English.
