Mr. Goenka joined IDFC Alternatives in 2015. He has over seventeen years of experience across private equity, investment banking and management consulting. Prior to joining IDFC Alternatives, Mr. Goenka worked at BanyanTree Finance to invest in mid-market listed companies using the private equity approach that led to successful investments in MT Educare and City Union Bank. Earlier, he has worked at Standard Chartered Private Equity and at BCP Advisors. He has led investments in The Ratnakar Bank (now RBL Bank) and the National Stock Exchange of India as well as managed Standard Chartered’s investment in Privi Organics. Earlier, Mr. Goenka worked at Rabo India’s investment banking business, at The Boston Consulting Group and Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). Mr. Goenka holds a BA from St Stephen’s College and an MA from the University of Cambridge - both in Economics. He has an MBA from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad and is also a CFA charter-holder.
