Amit Ranade joined IDFC Alternatives in 2017. He has over fourteen years of experience in India and in the US, across private equity, M&A and investment banking. Amit focuses on originating and evaluating investments, and managing existing portfolio. He has a strong Consumer, Healthcare and Technology sector experience. Prior to joining IDFC Alternatives, Amit was with WestBridge Capital Partners (2015 – 2017) responsible for private equity and buyout investments for the fund. Previously, he was one of the early members of the private equity team at Premji Invest (2010 – 2015), looking at growth equity, late stage private equity and mezzanine investments in India. He started his career in Investment Banking with US offices of Wachovia Securities (2004 – 2006) and had stints at Thomas Weisel Partners (2006 - 2008) and BlackRock (2008 – 2010). Amit holds a Master of Science in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University, USA and Bachelors and Masters in Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai.
