Bio

Richard Viton joined IA Capital Group in 2008 and focuses on the insurance industry. He is a member of its investment committee and is a Director of Omnidian, Integriant, and Afficiency. Rick had a 10+ year relationship as advisor to IA Capital and its portfolio companies prior to joining in 2008. Rick also serves as a Partner at Energy Capital Ventures. With over 25 years of financial services experience as a senior level investment banker and previously in a corporate finance role, he has significant industry relationships and extensive transaction execution experience. Rick has served as strategic advisor to many of the largest US and global insurers, including MetLife, Prudential, Nationwide, The Hartford, SwissRe, Fortis, Prudential plc, among others. He specialized in the insurance sector with particular strength in its cross-over with other financial services sectors including asset management, transaction processing, finance companies and banking. Rick also serves as an investment banker at Ramirez & Co., the largest Hispanic-owned investment bank. He was most recently a Managing Director in FIG at Credit Suisse from 2005 to 2007 and UBS from 1997 to 2005. At UBS, Rick completed over 150 financing and merger and acquisition transactions totaling over $60 billion. Rick holds a Master of Management degree from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management and a BA in Economics from Northwestern University.
