Bio

Ajay Mehra is a Partner and Chief Legal Officer at Hudson Structured Capital Management Ltd. Most recently, Mr. Mehra was an Associate Partner, Deputy General Counsel & Global Chief Compliance Officer of Caxton Associates LP, a multi-billion dollar global macro investment firm, where he also served as an integral member of Caxton’s Investment Risk Committee. Prior to joining Caxton, Mr. Mehra was Global Chief Compliance Officer of Perella Weinberg Partners, where he was responsible for all of PWP’s global investment banking and asset management businesses. On the asset management side, he handled all compliance and attendant legal matters related to equity long/short, distressed/credit, asset-based value, “endowment model” and private-equity investment strategies, as well as advised on hedge funds, private equity funds, funds-of-funds, registered investment companies, UITs and UCITS. Prior to joining PWP, Mr. Mehra was Head of Legal – Traditional Asset Management & Hedge Funds (Americas) at Credit Suisse Asset Management and also served as General Counsel of certain of Credit Suisse’s U.S. asset management entities. In these roles, he was responsible for all legal issues related to certain U.S.-based entities as well as numerous types of investment strategies and products offered by CSAM — including separate accounts, hedge funds, and registered (open- and closed-end) investment companies. Before Credit Suisse, he was a senior associate in the Asset Management Practice Group at Shearman & Sterling LLP, where he primarily counseled registered and unregistered investment advisers and investment companies, and registered fund complexes (including Boards of Directors and Service Providers) with respect to legal and compliance matters under the federal and state securities laws. Mr. Mehra began his career at the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission, where he worked in both the Division of Investment Management and Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations. Mr. Mehra graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Arts, holds a Juris Doctor degree from Syracuse University College of Law, Cum Laude, and holds a Master of Business Administration, with Honors, from Syracuse University, School of Management.
