Prior to co-founding Hillstar Capital in 2014, Adam was a Principal at American Capital, a publicly traded private equity firm and asset manager with approximately $20 billion in assets. At American Capital, Adam led the Consumer, Retail and Food group and has invested in various industries including industrial, niche manufacturing, business services, healthcare, and consumer. He was most recently on the Board for two portfolio companies, Imaging Business Machines, LLC (IBML) and Pacific Handy Cutter (PHC) and was a board observer for Rug Doctor. Before American Capital, Adam was at The Riverside Company and participated in four acquisitions and was on the Board of several companies. Previously, Adam was at Park Avenue Equity Partners and The Chart Group in NY. Adam began his career in the investment banking division of Lehman Brothers in the Energy Group. Adam graduated with high honors from the University of Texas’ McCombs School of Business where he earned a BBA in Accounting and a MPA in Taxation. He has passed all four parts of the certified public accountancy exam. Adam lives in Dallas with his wife and three children. Adam enjoys playing sports, rooting for his Houston and Texas sports teams and spending time with his wife and kids. He is also a Board Member of Ann and Nate Levine Academy.
