Eric W. Kaup joined Hilco Global in 2004 as Assistant General Counsel and Vice President. In 2007, he was named General Counsel and Executive Vice President, and appointed to the Board of Directors of Hilco Global. In 2010, he also served as interim CEO of Hilco Consumer Capital. As a seasoned transactional attorney, he specializes in structuring and executing distressed asset acquisition and disposition transactions. Prior to joining Hilco Global, Eric participated in many of the nation’s then-largest Chapter 11 filings and 363 Sale acquisitions, including Safety-Kleen Corporation, Outboard Marine Corporation, Polaroid Corporation, and National Steel Corporation while in private practice in the Chicago office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. During his tenure with Hilco Global, Eric has documented and closed hundreds of transactions. Eric has led Hilco Global deal teams in negotiating and structuring transactions to acquire and dispose of assets in each of the asset classes, including retail inventories, real estate, industrial assets, receivables, and intellectual property. Eric is a graduate of Yale University and The Ohio State University Moritz School of Law.
