Bio

Amr leads Hg’s Data & AI team, working with management teams in harnessing the potential of data, analytics, and AI. The team provides experts, Hg’s proprietary operational IP, and project execution support to drive impact across the most critical business levers. Amr worked closely with portfolio companies across Hg’s funds and clusters, most recently including Bright, Litera, Citation Group, and Howden Group. Amr joined Hg in 2017 from Boston Consulting Group’s Gamma Advanced Analytics team, where he worked on analytics projects for clients across Europe in financial services, retail and industrial sectors. Prior to this he spent time in the OC&C Analytics team, and as a Lead Data Scientist at VisualDNA (acquired by Nielsen). Amr is from Egypt, and holds an MEng in Engineering Science and a DPhil in Computer Vision and Machine Learning from University of Oxford.
