Brandon is the Vice President for Heartland Equity Partners, responsible for evaluating investment opportunities as well as supporting the growth and good stewardship of Heartland's portfolio companies. After beginning his career as an auditor with Ernst & Young, Brandon spent nearly a decade in private equity firms and a local family office analyzing and executing various alternative investment strategies. These included controlling positions in operating companies for everything from power plants to consumer brands, and he was also deeply involved with all aspects of scaling a niche REIT from $7mm to $70+mm over three years. Most recent to joining Heartland, Brandon worked as CFO for a manufacturer of innovative LED light emitters before serving as interim-CEO. Brandon is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) in Minnesota and earned a B.A. in Business (with emphasis in Accounting, Finance, and Marketing) from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN. Though he now makes his home in the Twin Cities, Brandon was born and raised in Eau Claire, WI and has deep family roots in Western Wisconsin. Away from work, Brandon's two young children keep him and his wife busy, but he also finds time to enjoy the outdoors and sports of all types.
