Mr. Colonnetta, a Dallas based investor, has over 30 years of experience in the private equity industry as both an operator and investor, including substantial experience in identifying and acquiring a wide variety of businesses. From 1985 to 1996 he served in a variety of banking and finance roles. From 1997 to 2011, Mr. Colonnetta worked for Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst, a nationally prominent private equity firm in the United States that specialized in leveraged acquisitions. He served as a partner with Hicks Muse beginning in 2003 where he was active in sourcing, executing, overseeing and/or exiting numerous transactions, valued in excess of $2.5 billion. Since 2011, he has been the Founding and General Partner of HBC Investments, which specializes in middle market private equity investments. In 2013 Mr. Colonnetta was appointed by Texas Governor Rick Perry and reappointed by Governor Greg Abbott to serve as a Trustee on the Teachers’ Retirement System of Texas (Texas Teachers’ Board), a $150 billion investment fund benefiting 1.5 million educators in the State of Texas. Mr. Colonnetta serves as the Chairman of the prominent Investment Committee of the Texas Teachers’ Board. Mr. Colonnetta has served as a Director and Chairman on numerous private and public company boards. Currently, he serves on the board of Retirement Advisors of America. Mr. Colonnetta graduated from the University of Houston in 1985. He has 4 adult children and resides with his wife Kimberly in Dallas.
