Mr. De Castro joined the firm in 2021. As a Director in the European Transactions group, based in London, he is responsible for developing and executing the investment strategy for the firm in Spain and Portugal. He also oversees the asset management and portfolio performance of the firm’s investments in Iberia. Mr. De Castro brings circa 10 years of experience in private equity real estate and corporate finance to Harrison Street. Prior to joining Harrison Street, Mr. De Castro served as a Principal at The Blackstone Group in London, where for 7 years he participated in numerous transactions in a wide array of real estate asset sectors including residential, office and hotels. At Blackstone he handled asset and portfolio management, asset dispositions, as well as underwriting and closing new investments. He was responsible for managing relationships with the firm’s platforms in Spain, instrumental to manage and grow the firm’s portfolio. Prior to that, Mr. De Castro worked as an Analyst in the M&A Investment Banking team at Citigroup covering infrastructure and real estate. He participated in IPOs and fundraising for real estate companies, issuance of corporate bonds, private equity acquisition and disposition of Spanish and European companies, covering all levels of deal origination and execution. Mr. De Castro earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration mastering in Finance and a bachelor’s degree in Law mastering in Corporate Law from ICADE University in Madrid.
