Mr. Garot joined the firm in 2012. As a Director in the Transactions group, he assists in the sourcing, analyzing, and closing of transactions and venture relationships within the student housing sector, having been responsible for over $4.5B of student housing transactions. Prior to joining Harrison Street, Mr. Garot was an analyst at Duff & Phelps within the Real Estate Services Group; performing various valuation services for financial reporting, refinancing, litigation, and mergers & acquisitions. Prior thereto, he interned at Allstate Insurance in the Real Estate Investment Group. Mr. Garot holds a BBA with a double major in Finance, Investment & Banking and Real Estate & Urban Land Economics from the University of Wisconsin—Madison. He is an active member of the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association and active participant in industry conferences.
