Mike Pekkarinen joined HarbourVest in 2020 with primary responsibility for overseeing business resilience at HarbourVest. In this capacity, Mike is responsible for workforce strategy, the Firm’s work environment, and operational business continuity. Mike joined the Firm from Aon where he was an Associate Partner. As a senior leader he focused on HR and compensation consulting services to all forms of asset management businesses such as banks, insurance companies, in-house managers, private equity firms, and hedge funds. Prior to that, he was Head of Compensation at Fidelity Investments where he led the enterprise function responsible for design, governance, and delivery of compensation programs, encompassing over 40,000 employees globally. Mike holds an MBA from Northern Illinois University and received a BS from Boston College.
