Matt HoganBruen joined HarbourVest in 2016 and is focused on leveraging his investment, lending, and product development experience to assist strategic clients through the building of investment portfolios and the creation of innovative investment structures to provide broader access to the private markets. Matt began his career on Capitol Hill working for a member of the US Congress focused on banking, poverty, agricultural, and economic development issues. He later worked at Bank of America and The Carlyle Group as lender, an investor in private equity and venture capital funds, raising capital, designing and launching permanent capital vehicles, and advocating for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and its impact. Matt received a B.A. in political science from the University of Michigan, an M.A. in public policy from the University of Chicago, and an M.B.A. from Oxford University.
