Laura Thaxter joined HarbourVest in 2000 and leads the Firm’s Client Experience team. The Client Experience team focuses on enhancing the client experience from client due diligence and product marketing through client onboarding and client service. The team also works closely with Investor Relations to enhance relationships with clients and consultants. Laura began her career at the Firm as the Director of Marketing and Client Communications. In that role, Laura enhanced the Firm’s communications efforts and built the marketing and client communications team over a period of 18 years. Laura joined HarbourVest from Thomson Financial where she was a marketing director with the Investment Banking and Capital Markets group, whose products included private markets data and publications such as Venture Capital Journal, Private Equity Week, and Buyouts. Her other experience includes marketing positions with First Variable Life Insurance and IDG Books Worldwide. Laura received a BA in Government and Economics from Dartmouth College in 1993.
