Diarmuid Walsh joined HarbourVest in 2019 and is responsible for the Firm’s AIFM compliance program and assisting with compliance matters relating to the Firm’s global operations and products. Over the past 20 years, Diarmuid has focused on Risk Management, Operations Management, Six Sigma Process Improvement Initiatives, and Program Management. He has in-depth knowledge of the sector with a focus on governance and risk mitigation. Diarmuid joined the Firm from General Electric Corporate Treasury, where he held various roles and was most recently Head of Enterprise and Operational Risk. His responsibilities included the designing and implementing of a best practice Operational Risk Management Framework. His previous experience also includes roles at SSgA Ireland (formerly Bank of Ireland Asset Management). Diarmuid received a BA in Public Administration from the University of Limerick, an MBS in Banking and Financial Services from the University College Dublin, and an MSc in Management and Applications of IT from Dublin City University.
