Alicia Sweeney joined HarbourVest in 2018 and is responsible for leading HarbourVest’s internal and external communications initiatives. Alicia joined the Firm from Fidelity Investments, where she was vice president of corporate media relations, directing external regional communications and thematic media strategy for the company. Prior to Fidelity, she was vice president and head of public relations for North America at State Street Corporation where she oversaw corporate and business unit media strategy, including crisis management and C-suite media platforms across the firm’s asset management, custody, asset servicing, and brokerage divisions. Alicia was also the vice president of public relations and investor relations for Investment Technology Group and held senior PR roles at the International Securities Exchange and Instinet. Alicia received a BA in Communications and Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 1999.
