Bio

Mr. Bluestein founded Grindstone Partners in 2009 to address a lack of capital in the small and mid cap market. He brings over twenty years of financial experience including an excellent ten year track record of direct private equity investing to the firm. Previously Mr. Bluestein co-founded Oakcrest Capital in Washington D.C. with former Congressman J.C. Watts, Jr. Oakcrest was established to leverage the networks of the partners for the benefit of a portfolio of small cap companies. Prior to Oakcrest, Mr. Bluestein was a member of the general partnership at Winston Partners, a lower middle market private equity shop in Northern Virginia. His sectors of experience include building products, niche manufacturing, outsourced business services, healthcare services and consumer products. Mr. Bluestein has served as Chairman or Director on ten company Boards and has advised many others. He currently serves on the Boards of TelStar Hosted Services, Fulcrum IT Services and Young at Heart Pharmacy. Before joining Winston Partners Group, Mr. Bluestein spent five years as an investment banker at First Union and PaineWebber advising on M&A and capital markets transactions. Mr. Bluestein received a BA degree in Political Science from the University of Virginia and earned an MBA in Strategic Management and Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Bluestein lives in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife of 19 years and two young sons.
