When Mason shared his idea for a firm focused on investing in small businesses, Sasha became one of the first investors. A decade later, in 2019, Mason asked Sasha to join Greybull to help identify new investment opportunities and oversee Greybull’s portfolio companies. For Sasha, joining Greybull as a partner is a culmination of more than two decades of experience as a strategy consultant, equity portfolio manager, and entrepreneur. Sasha immigrated to the US at age sixteen from the former Soviet Union. He studied philosophy both at undergraduate and graduate levels (Brandeis University and University of Massachusetts, Amherst) and earned his MBA from Harvard Business School in 2002. Prior to Greybull, Sasha was a partner and portfolio manager at Osterweis Capital Management for fourteen years, the co-founder of a wealth management startup and a management consultant with Monitor Group (now Monitor Deloitte).
