Bio

Eric is an Operating Partner at Great River Capital Partners (GRCP) and joined the firm in 2022. Eric is also the Principal at Hansa ter Vehn Consulting where he works primarily with Italian industrial automation manufacturers and lower market private equity companies on practical operational, manufacturing and go to market (GTM) strategy projects for their U.S. portfolio companies. Eric has 25 years of industrial technology experience across instrumentation, sensors, motion control and automation. Eric was the CEO of the Scully Signal company, as the first non-family CEO, transitioning the company from the second to third generation. Prior to Scully, Eric was the CEO and Managing Director of the North American subsidiary of Gefran SpA. In both cases, Eric was responsible for improving operations and increasing revenue. Eric’s past experience has included a mix of various industrial segments – adhesives, biochemical, brewing, chemical, packaging, petroleum, plastics, and power generation. Eric started out in customer facing positions in product management, sales and service with Thermo Electron (now ThermoFisher Scientific) and in B2B marketing and general management with Mettler Toledo. Eric has extensive industrial channel creation experience in both domestic and international markets. Eric holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business and Economics from the State University of New York - Plattsburgh, a Master of Arts in the History of Science from Harvard University, and an MBA from Cornell University. He lives in Jamaica Plain, MA with his wife and four children, and spends weekends whenever possible in the mountains of Western Maine.
