Rubens Freitas joined GP Investments in 2006 and since 2014 is the Managing Director responsible for Private Equity Real Estate and for Special Situations. Over the past twelve years at GP, Mr. Freitas has led transactions totaling more than USD2 billion in numerous sectors, mostly within Real Estate, Consumer Goods, Telecom and Insurance sectors. Mr. Freitas is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of BR Properties and Chairman of the Board of BHG – Brazil Hospitality Group. Previously, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of BR Properties, Gafisa, Telemar, Contax and Tempo Participações. In 2009-2010, Mr. Freitas held the position of Chief Financial Officer of dairy producer Leitbom, a GP portfolio company at the time. Before joining GP, Mr. Freitas was a consultant at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants during five years. He is a Mechanical-Aeronautics Engineer, graduated from ITA, with MBA with Honors from Harvard Business School.
