Tan Hwee Loo is co-Head of Global Investments, Strategy and Risk (GISR) in the Private Equity (PE) Department. In this role, she oversees the various aspects of GISR, in support of the PE CIO. Hwee Loo joined GIC in 2001 as an economist. In 2005 she joined Private Equity and since then worked in GISR, Europe Funds and Co-Investments, as well as Asia Funds and Co-Investments. From 2008 to 2013, she was posted to London, where she worked on Developed Market Europe, Emerging Markets Non-Asia (EMNA), and Secondaries. In 2016, she led and developed the newly formed global Secondaries team as a separate strategy within the PE division. Hwee Loo holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics. She also holds a Master of Philosophy in Economics from Nuffield College, Oxford University.
