Bio

Dale Murphy, renowned for his prestigious baseball career, now brings his excellence in leadership growth and organizational development to Georgia Oak Partners as Managing Director. The Atlanta Braves’ first-round draft pick in 1974, Dale's baseball journey spanned nearly two decades. A seven-time National League All-Star and the youngest in MLB history to win back-to-back MVPs (1982 and 1983), Murphy is renowned for his impressive accolades including five Gold Gloves, four Silver Sluggers, and membership in the exclusive “30-30 Club.” Throughout the 1980s, he dominated in home runs and RBIs, gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated three times and being recognized as the athlete “Who Cared the Most” by the magazine in 1987. Dale's commitment to charitable causes earned him prestigious accolades like the Bart Giamatti Caring Award, Lou Gehrig Memorial Award, and Roberto Clemente Award. Now an acclaimed motivational speaker and author, Murphy carries his legacy into the world of private equity. He’ll play a key role in coaching Georgia Oak’s portfolio companies on leadership, teamwork, resilience, integrity, success, and culture. Like his retired jersey number (#3) with the Braves, Dale helps portfolio companies safeguard their legacies for generations to come. Murphy’s devotion to family, friends, and faith underscores his holistic approach to life and business. He and his wife Nancy split their time between Atlanta and Utah. They are the proud parents of eight children and sixteen grandchildren (with two more on the way).
