Matt is a Managing Director and a member of the Investment Committee at Gemspring Capital. He is responsible for leading investing activities in the Industrials vertical and is focused on all industrial subsectors with an emphasis on chemicals & specialty materials, packaging, industrial technology, engineered equipment & components, specialty distribution, and industrial & infrastructure services. Prior to Gemspring, Matt was a Managing Director on Cerberus Capital Management’s Private Equity team where he led private equity investments in the Industrials vertical. During his tenure with Cerberus, Matt was responsible for leading all aspects of the investment process including sourcing, structuring, and executing new investments, as well as portfolio management. While at Cerberus, he served as a board member for several portfolio companies including Closure Systems International, PQ Performance Chemicals, Cyanco, and Kellermeyer Bergensons Services. Prior to Cerberus, Matt worked at H.I.G. Capital, RBC Capital Markets, and The Hartford Financial Services Group. Matt received a BS in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from Columbia University. He is also a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
