Bio

President and founder of GED Group. He chairs the management companies, as well as all the Funds’ investment committees. Enrique promoted the Private Equity sector in Spain at the end of the 70s, when he became Director of SEFINNOVA, the first Private Equity Company in Spain. He has been President of the Spanish Venture Capital Association (ASCRI), and was a member of its Board of Directors for 7 years. For 4 years he was a member of the Board of the European Venture Capital Association (EVCA). For ten years he was Director of Grupo de Empresas de Desarrollo de Sepi (INI), made up of 7 Industrial Development companies (SODIS) and Enisa while working in INI. He has held Board positions in several Private Equity companies, such as the Catalana de Iniciatives, Enisa and Axis. In Group INI, now Sepi, he was responsible for managing the restructuring of the steel sector (Acenor now Sidenor, Ensidesa today Corporación de la Siderúrgica Integral), Naval (Astilleros Españoles today Navantia), Mining (Hunosa), Capital Goods (Ateinsa-La Maquinista now Meinfesa/GEC-Alsthom, Babcock&Wilcox, etc.) and Naval Transport (Elcano y Trasatlántica). He had a very important and active role in the restructuring process and participated in the Board of several major companies (Astilleros, Hunosa, Ence, etc.) Enrique Centelles holds an advanced degree in Industrial Engineering and has an ESIC’s MBA.
