Bio

Philip M. Browne serves as Senior Managing Director of Finance and Administration at FS Investments, where he is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the finance and accounting functions across all firm entities. Mr. Browne brings more than 30 years of executive and director experience in all matters of finance and accounting operations. Before joining FS Investments, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of Advanta Corporation, a public financial services company with over $10 billion in managed assets. In this role, he was responsible for managing the company’s finance, accounting, treasury, securitization and investor relations functions, and he played an integral role in managing the company’s strategic planning and regulatory relationships. Prior to Advanta, he was a partner at Arthur Andersen LLP where he practiced for 16 years as a certified public accountant and provided audit and business advisory services to companies in a broad range of industries, with a focus on financial services and retail companies. Throughout his career, Mr. Browne has served on the boards and audit committees of a number of public and private companies as well as non-profit organizations. He is currently serving on the Board of Directors and as the Treasurer for Living Beyond Breast Cancer, a national non-profit organization dedicated to the education and support of individuals impacted by breast cancer. Mr. Browne is also a member of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Corporate Council. Mr. Browne received his BS cum laude, with special attainments in Commerce, from Washington and Lee University. Mr. Browne lives with his wife and two sons near Philadelphia.
