John co-founded Farview Equity Partners in 2019. John has over two decades of experience as a growth-oriented technology investor and board member with a focus on software/SaaS, tech-enabled information and business services, and financial technology. Before co-founding Farview, John spent 18 years at TCV, a provider of capital to growth-stage private and public companies in the technology industry. Originally based in Silicon Valley, John moved to London in 2012 to establish and lead TCV’s European investment team. As a General Partner, John either led or actively participated in TCV’s investments in Believe Music Group, TastyWorks, World Remit, Retail Merchant Services, NewVoiceMedia (acquired by Vonage), Spotify (NYSE: SPOT), brillen.de and Perfecto Mobile (acquired by Perforce). John started his career as an investment banking analyst at Robertson Stephens in San Francisco with a short detour at an ecommerce business called Della.com, before joining TCV in 2000. In addition to partnering with exceptional entrepreneurs, John is passionate about education, having previously served as a director of both Rocketship Public Schools (a national network of high-performing elementary schools in under-served communities) and RISE (a provider of Resources for Independent Schools and Educators). John received a BA in Economics from Princeton University. In his free time, John loves traveling with his wife and three kids to his beloved Montana - skiing, fishing, and hiking in the mountains. As a native of Baltimore and despite living in London, John still finds time to support his hometown Orioles and Ravens.
