Antonio was born in 1960. He holds a degree in Economics, magna cum laude, from University of Bergamo and a MBA from SDA Bocconi. He started his career at Credito Italiano and at Cargill SpA (a subsidiary of Cargill Inc.) where he was Treasurer for Italy. He joined ABN AMRO in 1990 where he held various positions, including a three years' secondment to the Amsterdam Headquarters in the International Private Equity Group (1994-1997), Head of Corporate Banking and Structured Finance for Italy (1997-2001) and Wholesale Clients Country Representative for Italy (2000-2002). In 2001, he became CEO of ABN AMRO Capital, responsible for the overall success, planning and growth of the Italian operations of the private equity unit of the Dutch Bank. He also contributed to the decision making process of ABN AMRO Capital European Buy-Out business as member of the European Engagement Committee.
