With F2i since June 2020, Gianluca is Chief Investment Officer Debt and Senior Partner of the Debt Investment Team. He has more than 20 years’ experience in origination, structuring, advisory and portfolio management of infrastructure finance developed in primary European and Italian financial institutions. During his career, Gianluca has closed more than 60 financing transactions across sectors: transportation, utilities, energy and renewables, telecom, PPP and social infrastructures for a total value in excess of € 40 billion. In F2i he has overseen the development and structuring of the new strategy focused on infrastructure debt and has also contributed to setting up the new debt investment team. Before joining F2i, from 2016 to 2020, Gianluca was Head of Infrastructure at CDP with responsibility over all the debt products (project and acquisition finance, corporate loans, guarantees, junior loans). He was also responsible for the coverage activity of corporates and funds active in the infrastructure sectors, as well as for the advisory to public administrations for the launch of new PPP projects. Previously, he was Head of Infrastructure Italy at BNP Paribas where he spent 9 years in the project finance team with increasing responsibilities ranging from origination, advisory, arranging to syndication of infrastructure deals. Before BNP Paribas, Gianluca was a member of UniCredit project finance team; before that, he worked in the Finance and Business Development department of Veolia Water and in the structured finance and advisory team of Dexia Crediop. Gianluca has also held positions as board member in management companies of European infrastructure funds. Gianluca is graduated cum laude in Business Administration at LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome.
