Bio

Mr. Moakley brings more than two decades and over $20 billion of equity transaction experience to the team. He was most recently the President of North America for TerraForm Power. Mr. Moakley joined TerraForm in January 2014 and led the Company’s third-party project acquisitions. Prior to joining TerraForm Power, Mr. Moakley served as President of EverStream YieldCo. During that time, Mr. Moakley led the effort to develop EverStream YieldCo, the entity which eventually became TerraForm Power. From 1995 to 2012, Mr. Moakley was a partner at Meridian Investments, Inc. where he served in several roles including Chief Executive Officer of the Meridian Companies and helped to build Meridian’s energy practice from its inception in 1995. During his tenure at Meridian, the firm raised over $15 billion dollars of tax equity for various energy and real estate partnerships and also acted as principles in select transactions. Mr. Moakley has transacted in many energy sectors including wind, solar, coal bed methane gas, synthetic fuel from coal, biomass, and fuel cells. Mr. Moakley was also a member of the management team that managed Meridian’s energy holdings. From 1998 through 2008, Meridian Energy was the General Partner for Carbontronics Fuels, LLC and was also a Partner in Pace Carbon Fuels, LP. In 2006 Meridian also served as the Managing Member for White Creek Wind, LLC during the construction phase of the 205 MW wind farm. Mr. Moakley is a graduate of The College of William & Mary earning a BA in Economics. He holds a law degree from Boston University School of Law, and has been a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association since 1989. Mr. Moakley also completed the Advanced Management Program at the Duke University Fuqua School of Business.
