Bio

Hans Kobler is the Founder and Managing Partner of Energy Impact Partners (EIP), a $4 billion global investment firm custom-built to invest in the energy transition. EIP brings together forward-thinking utilities, industrials and innovators to advance the energy transition. He is responsible for directing EIP’s overarching investment strategy and leading a global team that invests in multiple asset classes in the U.S. and Europe. Hans is a 25-year veteran of energy and climate technology investing, and a pioneer of corporate venture capital. He started his career as a management consultant at Bain & Company before leading the energy technology group at GE Equity, General Electric’s venture capital arm. Hans went on to found and serve as CEO of Digital Power Capital, a venture capital fund focused on advanced power technologies. His entrepreneurial spirit then led him to build and lead ICx Technologies, a leading sensor technology company targeting security, transportation, and energy, which he took public on Nasdaq in 2007. He launched EIP in 2015 on the premise of advancing climate innovation through collaboration. He holds a Master of Aerospace Engineering from the Technical University of Munich with distinction, an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin and attended INSEAD’s MBA (SS) program. He lives in New York with his wife and three daughters.
