D. Martin Phillips is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of EnCap Investments L.P. Mr. Phillips plays a leadership role in all levels of executive management including investments, fundraising, finance, accounting, compliance and personnel. Prior to the formation of EnCap, Mr. Phillips was a Senior Vice President in the Energy Banking Group of NationsBank in Dallas. Mr. Phillips serves on the board of directors of several EnCap portfolio companies and is a member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America, the American Petroleum Institute and the Houston Producers’ Forum. In addition, Mr. Phillips’ community involvement includes serving as the National Chairman and board member of the One Goal Foundation and also serves as a board member of the Small Steps Nurturing Center, LSU Foundation and E.J. Ourso College of Business. Mr. Phillips holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University. He is a member of the LSU College of Business Hall of Distinction. Additionally, Mr. Phillips also attended the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University.
