oaquín Avila is a Co-founder of EMX Capital and has a key role in selecting, analyzing and structuring transactions to be presented to the Investment Committee. He co-led EMX’s investments in ILSP Global and in AG Convertidora, and serves as Board Member of both companies. He served as Managing Director and Fund Head for Carlyle Mexico Partners of The Carlyle Group. He actively participated in the fund’s Investment Committee. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Arabela, IHS Global and ILSP, as he did for the ULA and Hispanic Teleservices Corporation and was closely involved in both divestures. Joaquín actively participates in monitoring the investments and is member of the financial and operating committees of the companies. He also acts as Board Member for the AMEXCAP (Mexican Private Equity Association).
