Uzay is Managing Partner of EMEA Capital. Uzay was a founding partner of Fokus Yatirim Holding, an asset management and advisory firm active in Turkey since 2010. Prior to Fokus, he was Managing Director and CEO of Lehman Brothers, Turkey and a member of the Europe and Middle East Operating Committee. Lehman’s activities in Turkey ranged from capital-markets brokerage activities and corporate advisory to a number of successful principal investments as well as a USD 2 billion non-performing loan business comprised of portfolios acquired from local financial institutions complete with a servicing platform. Before rejoining Lehman Brothers in 2005, he was one of the founders of Inquam Ltd. (Zapp Holdings), a specialised wireless network operator with Qualcomm Inc. of the US and the Saudi Oger Group as main shareholders. Inquam built operational networks in Portugal and Romania providing 3G services in the 450MHz band. Uzay joined Lehman Brother’s Fixed Income Division in 1992 and was Head of Emerging Markets Sales when he left to start up Inquam in 2000. Uzay holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Istanbul University and a Master of Business Administration in Finance degree with distinction from Nottingham University.
