Bio

With over 13 years of experience in distribution and manufacturing businesses, and 14 years as a military leader, Robert brings a deep knowledge of how to grow profitable businesses through leadership development, effective brand and go to market strategy execution, efficient process implementation, continuous improvement (Lean and Six Sigma), and cultural excellence. Robert has led as the President of four manufacturing companies for products from structural steel to LED technologies. He has also served as Chief Operating Officer at a building materials and supply distributor, taking them through recession and a subsequent period of rapid growth. Robert has held leadership roles at blue chip companies such as Stryker, Lockheed Martin, and General Electric. Prior to those roles in the private sector, Robert served as an Officer in the United States Navy, where he leveraged his Naval Academy education and developed an expertise for leading teams in the submarine and nuclear engineering community. A lifelong learner, Robert holds a master’s of business administration from the Naval Postgraduate School, a master’s degree in Strategy from the Naval War College, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics (minor in Japanese) from the US Naval Academy. Robert lives in Birmingham with his wife and three children. In his spare time, Robert enjoys golfing, outdoor recreation, martial arts, and tinkering with technology.
