Emily Teran is energized by problem-solving and sets goals that intentionally force her to confront her limitations. She uses her introspective nature to try out ideas on herself and reflect on what she did well, along with what could have gone better. Although many private equity firms have a reputation for being corporate raiders, Emily is proud that Cynosure works in partnership with each invested company, taking a hands-on approach that aligns with the company’s long-term development. She joined The Cynosure Group in 2021 as CCO, where she is responsible for the regulatory compliance of Cynosure’s SEC-registered investment adviser. She received a B.S. in Finance from the University of Utah and is currently an Investment Adviser Certified Compliance Professional (IACCP) candidate. As the firstborn in a family of five children, Emily is grateful that her parents never treated the girls differently from the boys or presumed they had limited potential, assigning them all the same chores and expectations at school. Consequently, today she and her sisters are all successful in their respective fields.
