Alina Chiew Bio

Alina leads the Active Equities Asia group investing in publicly listed companies, IPOs and pre-IPOs, as well as research and investment in China A and H shares, with specific focus on the wealth management, renewables, healthcare and wellness domains. Prior to joining CPP Investments in 2017, Alina was Managing Director responsible for managing Greater China equity strategies in Goldman Sachs Asset Management; and was Chief Representative in the Shanghai Representative Office. Before that, she headed the research department at CITIC Frontier China Research in Shanghai, and also worked as an equity research analyst at Crosby, Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley. She started her career as a bank regulator with Bank Negara Malaysia. Alina holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting from the University of Malaya. She is a CFA charterholder and a Certified Public Accountant.
