Mr. May is responsible for all activities of the firm including investment sourcing and valuation, transaction structuring, the securing of acquisition financing, fundraising and all administrative activities. He has over 20 years of investment and operating experience, having spent the past 17 years working on transactions with several private equity sponsors principally with The Blackstone Group and H.I.G. Capital. He served as a President & CEO of six private equity backed companies with revenues ranging from $90 to $450 million. He also has worked in the public sector as a divisional CEO for a publicly-traded business and comes highly respected in the Industrials sector. Mr. May’s extensive investment experience includes acquiring various family-owned, entrepreneurial, corporate carve-out, distressed, special-situation, and private equity owned businesses. He continues to sit on the Board of Directors of several private equity portfolio companies, past and present. He currently serves on the boards of Advanced Lighting Technologies and Ehrhart Tool & Machine. Mr. May graduated with Honors from East Carolina University with a business degree. He is also Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board for Imerman Angels, a 501(c)(3) Chicago-based cancer support organization. He also is an active member of YPO (Young Presidents’ Organization) and obtained his Level I Sommelier accreditation from The International Sommelier Guild.
