Maria de León joined Consonance as their Chief Compliance Officer in October 2019. Prior to joining Consonance, she was the Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Chesapeake Asset Management, LLC. From 2007-2017, Maria was a Director of the Legal & Compliance Team at Blue Ridge Capital, L.L.C. Prior to her time at Blue Ridge, Maria worked at Moore Capital Management leading the internal audit function in preparation for SEC registration. In 1998, Maria joined JP Morgan Partners as their Compliance Officer and was responsible for regulatory filings related to JPMP's portfolio. During her tenure at JP Morgan Partners, Maria also co-created the Risk Management/Audit team. From 1995-1998, Maria was a Senior Compliance Officer at Citigroup’s Legal Department. Prior to Citi, she was a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at White & Case, LLP where she split her time between the New York and Mexico City offices. Maria holds a BA from The University at Albany.
